On June 7th, 2022, San Francisco voters will be asked to vote on the following ballot measures:
Bonds
A – MUNI Reliability and Street Safety Bond
The proposed ordinance is a $400 million Transportation General Obligation (GO) Bond to fund transit, safety programs, and infrastructure.

Charter Amendments
B – Building Inspection Commission
Under the proposed charter amendment, seats on the commission designated for specific industries or stakeholder groups would be eliminated, a nomination and confirmation process for all nominees would be required as part of the appointment process, and it removes a provision that allows the commission to appoint a Building Inspection Department director and replace mayoral appointments with commission recommendations.

C – Recall Timelines and Vacancy Process
Proposition C would extend the period in which a recall petition could NOT be initiated during the beginning of an official’s term in office, from the first 6 months to the first 12 months and mandate that no recall petition may be submitted to the Director of Elections within 18 months of the elected official subjected to the recall. The Mayor can appoint for vacancies created by recalls, but the appointees would be interim officers and would be prohibited from running for the seat to which they were appointed.

Ordinances and Declarations of Policy
D – Victims and Witness Rights
Proposition D would create a new city office pulling together a range of victims’ services currently spread across multiple departments. The ballot measure would also establish the right to civil counsel for domestic violence victims.

E – Behested Payments
Proposition E will prohibit elected officials and other officials and employees specified in the law from soliciting behested payments from any person who is an “interested party” to them as local law defines that term.

F – Refuse Collection and Disposal
Proposition F would remove the Controller from the Refuse Rate Board and replace the Controller with a Ratepayer Representative, who would need to be recommended by an organization dedicated to protecting ratepayers. The Refuse Rate Board would also have the authority to set a maximum rate for commercial customers, provided that all the rates set by the Refuse Rate Board remain reasonable and fair. Proposition F would provide that applicants for refuse collection permits must include information in their applications establishing their ability to avoid disruptions in service; and would also authorize amendments by the Board of Supervisors.

Proposition G will amend the Police Code to require employers to provide public health emergency leave during a public health emergency.
