Act Now San Francisco
Act Now San Francisco promotes civic engagement and educates residents on the most critical issues facing our communities. We advocate for better government and engagement at the neighborhood level.
What is Civic Engagement?
Civic engagement is the act of working to make a difference in the lives of members in our communities and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference. It promotes quality of life through individual and collective actions designed to identify and address issues of public concern. Civic engagement gives our neighbors the ability to access and navigate critical services, the capacity to participate in relevant and meaningful ways, and the motivation and opportunity to give back to one’s community and country.
Our Role
We help to educate a diverse body of voters and support strong leaders who will effectively advocate for positive social, economic, and educational efforts, and fully participate in the civic life and political processes of their communities. Act Now San Francisco engages and mobilizes the public through creative approaches such as volunteerism, participation, and leadership training.
